'Andy & the Beats' to be performed at Kingsport Renaissance Center

Andy & the Beats is a musical about Juvenile Diabetes written by a local man, Andy Rogers. School performances will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 14, 15 and 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the Kingsport Renaissance Center. Tickets are $5.00 per child with chaperones and bus drivers free. There will be no charge for Free and Reduced Lunch students. Net proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.KingsportARTS is also sponsoring an art contest in conjunction with this show. Art pieces should be 8.5" by 14" and depict the students understanding or personal interaction with Juvenile Diabetes. Deadline for submission is Wednesday, November 7th at noon. The winner will be announced during the school performances. Playwright Andy Rogers is available to speak at schools interested in the show. HOMESCHOOL students/groups are welcome to attend school performances and enter the art contest!
