Chantz Scott Kia: Putting customers first every day

Chantz Scott Kia, formerly Kia of Kingsport, puts customers first every day calling it their “driver-centric” approach. Chantz Scott and a partner opened Kia of Kingsport in April 2011 at 929 East Stone Drive. On March 1 of this year, he became the sole owner of the Kingsport Kia dealership renaming it Chantz Scott Kia. He and his team have been hard at work in re-branding the dealership and making high-quality, customer-first service their top priority. Their mission is, “To provide an exciting and transparent customer experience, while providing the best opportunities for our team members, community and manufacturers we represent,” says Chantz.

Chantz attributes his success in Kingsport over the past six years to loyal customers and an outstanding team. He says, “I have an open-door policy in that customers can talk to me about anything to meet their needs and resolve any issues.” Chantz was honored as Automotive News’ 2017 40 Under 40 Retail.

In 2016, Chantz purchased the former Autoworld Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in Big Stone Gap, Va. Chantz Scott Kia has plans in the works to open a brand new state-of-the-art Kia facility in Kingsport. Construction will start within the next six months.

Who is Chantz Scott? Locally born and raised in the Tri-Cities, Chantz attended and played football for Science Hill High School and dreamed of playing college football at East Tennessee State University. Sadly, at that time, ETSU decided to suspend its football program. He was awarded a full scholarship to Elon University to play instead. After playing a football season, he returned home and found a different life calling. Chantz went to work for Greystoke Kia in Johnson City. His love for automobiles and in helping people became a priority of his life. At just 20 years old, he became general manager at the dealership. Because of record sales, Kia later awarded Chantz Scott and his partner a dealership in Kingsport.

Chantz is an avid supporter of local football and assisted with the initial Kickoff Fund to bring the football program back to ETSU. He has a special friendship with former University of Tennessee head football coach and ETSU football consultant Phil Fulmer. They recently reached a promotional agreement for the dealership. Chantz Scott Kia’s goal is to make an impact within the community, especially with kids and has become a community partner of the Boys and Girls Club of Kingsport. Chantz has two children: daughter Kinzton, who does the “We wanna to see ya in a Kia” commercials and son Chancellor who is 2.
