CLINTWOOD — Ridgeview dismantled Council in the home opener and scored a nondistrict win. Gabe Brown had 21 to lead the Wolfpack while Gabe Counts had 12. Tyler O’Quin chipped in with 10.
Caleb Hess had nine points to lead the Cobras.
Ridgeview moves to 2-0 on the season.
Twin Springs 57, Patrick Henry 51
NICKELSVILLE — Dean Jarnigan had 22 points for Twin Springs as the Titans were able to beat nondistrict foe Patrick Henry on Thursday. Justin Reed added 15 points.
Andrew Belcher was the leading scorer for Patrick Henry with 17. Josh Presley chipped in with 12.
The Titans attempted 32 free throws.
Ridgeview 66, Council 20
CLINTWOOD — The Ridgeview Lady Wolfpack moved to 3-0 on the season with a nondistrict win over Council. Nine girls scored for Ridgeview and were led by Bailey Frazier with 21 points.
Nikole Counts finished with 10 while Brooklyn Frazier had nine.
Bree Ratliff led the Lady Cobras with seven points.
Lee High 57, Rye Cove 45
JONESVILLE — The Lee High Lady Generals improved to 2-2 on the season with a nondistrict win over the Lady Eagles on Thursday night.
Kandace Quillen led Lee with 15 points while Abbey Middleton had 13. Pauline Tolentino was also in double figures with 10.
Kaleigh Sloan had 14 to lead Rye Cove, and Katy Roller had 13.
J.I. Burton 50, Sullivan North 46
PILGRIM’S KNOB — In a battle of the Raiders, the J.I. Burton Lady Raiders managed to hang on and withstand a furious fourth quarter rally by Sullivan North in the “Hoopalachia” Hardwood Classic at Twin Valley High School.
North was behind by as many as 20 in the second half and rallied but ultimately came up short. J.I. Burton was led by Sarah Mullins 24 points and Kaylee Jenkins 14.
Sullivan North was led by Lilly Crawford 17 and Katelyn Rutherford 14.
Patrick Henry 49, Twin Springs 35
NICKELSVILLE — The Patrick Henry Lady Rebels went on the road and got a nondistrict win over the Lady Titans behind 24 points from Breanna Yarber. Payton Monahan added 12 points for Patric Henry.
Abby Castle had 22 points for Twin Springs, and she nailed six 3-pointers in the game as the Lady Titans fell to 2-2 on the early season.
