Alexander, Yankees rough up K-Mets

From staff reports • Aug 18, 2018 at 3:25 AM

PULASKI, Va. — Evan Alexander was too much for the Kingsport Mets on Friday night.

Alexander, Pulaski’s center fielder and leadoff hitter, went 3 for 4, scored three runs and drove in three more in the Yankees’ 8-1 Appalachian League win over the K-Mets.

Pulaski was ahead 7-0 before the K-Mets scored on a home run by Guillermo Granadillo in the eighth inning. Granadillo and Luis Santana each had two hits for Kingsport, which totaled just the four.

Pulaski's Juan DeLeon was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs. He also had a home run.

The K-Mets (28-27) — who remained 2½ games behind West Division leader Elizabethton (29-23) — and Yankees (28-28) conclude their three-game series Saturday night.
