Man allegedly threatens to shoot Hawkins commissioner over EMS decision

Police are investigating a complaint filed by Hawkins County Commissioner Charlie Newton alleging that a constituent threatened to shoot him in the head Saturday due to an ambulance service being removed from the community.

Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Lynn Garden, finding a woman "to be very emotional." She then claimed that while she was sleeping, her juvenile daughter and a friend - who was staying the night - had "messed up the apartment."
