Kingsport schools may move to self-insured health care plan premium content

KINGSPORT — City school leaders are setting the wheels in motion for a possible move to a self-insured health care plan by Jan. 1, a move that would mean abandoning state of Tennessee health insurance offerings.

KINGSPORT — The Board of Mayor and Aldermen took the initial step Tuesday night toward issuing $28.9 million in bonds, money that will eventually be used to fund the city’s 2014 Capital Improvement Plan.

KINGSPORT — Leslie Ware Jr., 35, is on trial for the 2005 robbery and execution-style murder of Jeffrin Nolan, 27, and Terrance Alexander, 21, inside the former Sole candle shop on Myrtle Street. The shop was owned by Nolan.

A Kingsport teen was arrested in Scott County, Va., late Monday night after allegedly leading police from multiple agencies on a nearly 30-mile pursuit — striking another motorist's car and throwing items from his vehicle as he fled.
