Unicoi County Jail cook becomes inmate

ERWIN — An employee of the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department was arrested on Friday and now faces drug-related charges for allegedly delivering drugs to inmates in the Unicoi County Jail, according to Sheriff Mike Hensley.

A black bear — or maybe two — was spotted in the Sullivan Gardens area twice this week. In response, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is offering advice to people on what to do to help keep bears from wandering into your neighborhood.
