KINGSPORT — Kingsport City Schools didn’t win the SCORE Prize, but Superintendent Lyle Ailshie says he firmly believes KCS is a “shining example” of a school system and simply the best in Tennessee.

CHURCH HILL — Shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, CHPD Officer Brian Boggs was in McDonald’s parking lot on Silver Lake Road, when he reportedly observed a white Mazda pickup he knew to be stolen that had been lightly painted over with black primer.

GATE CITY — A former guard at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield pleaded no contest earlier this month to drug possession charges that stemmed from an investigation into allegations he was supplying inmates with contraband.
