Shortly before 7 p.m. police were called to a Kingsport street, where someone had found an unaccompanied toddler wearing only a diaper, "playing in the roadway."

Police confirmed this afternoon that a couple died from gunshot wounds Sunday in their Garden Road residence, saying a gun was found in the house and neighbors had heard gunshots early that morning.

At approximately 7 p.m., dispatch was alerted to a suspicious man in the area. A police report says a witness spotted the individual "throw a water hose over a fence at the back of the church," then heard glass breaking.
