For the second time in three years, Elizabethton claimed the New Peoples Bank Holiday Classic title. The Cyclones, on the strength of a 20-2 run to open the game, downed Morristown West 58-48 in Saturday’s championship game at Sullivan North.

Runway lights at Tri-Cities Regional Airport are now operating following a malfunction. One Delta flight was diverted to Knoxville, and passengers were transported by ground to TCRA. One USAirways flight was canceled.
