Court: Tenn. must recognize three same-sex marriages

A federal judge ordered the state of Tennessee on Friday to recognize the marriages of three same-sex couples while their lawsuit against the state works its way through the court system.

"The family was in bed and they had a fire alarm system that woke them up," Gate City Fire Chief Jeff Brickey said. "There was heavy smoke in the house when they came out of the bedrooms. They got out of the house, but the fire progressed very rapidly."
