Scott grand jury indicts Blountville man who allegedly ran over girlfriend in 2011

GATE CITY — Argie Brian Baker, 30, of Blountville, had charges of attempted 2nd degree murder and malicious wounding certified Monday by a Scott County grand jury in connection with the alleged December 2011 incident.

KINGSPORT — The city school board Thursday voted 4-0 with one absent to withdraw from the joint agreement with the county to operate Innovation Academy of Northeast Tennessee, a STEM or science, technology, engineering and math school for grades 6-8.
