KPD boosts seat belt enforcement

Kingsport police say they are stepping up seat belt enforcement to increase the city's current usage rate of 80 percent. Since 2012, at least a third of the people killed in Model City crashes were not wearing their seat belts.

Despite pleas from Norfolk Southern, members of the Bluff City Board of Mayor and Alderman refused to shut down a crossing the railroad says will eventually cause a fatality.
