The BMA approved the first reading of its 2014-15 budget Tuesday with the understanding that it will meet in workshop session next week to discuss Wolfe's concerns. The current budget proposal uses about $265,750 in savings to avoid a property tax hike.

Dustin Watson, 31, of Knoxville, received the 115-month prison sentence on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Greeneville. Watson, who pleaded guilty to carjacking in February, will also be on probation for three years following the prison stint.
