Longtime municipal attorney and municipal judge Chris Raines is seeking to unseat Hawkins County Sessions Judge J. Todd Ross in the Aug. 7 county general election. Raines defeated Terry Risner in the May 6 Democratic primary.

A man wanted for the past month after allegedly striking a Kingsport motorcyclist with a car and fleeing the scene — leaving the rider to be transported to the hospital by EMS — was located on Wednesday and booked into jail.
