Representatives of Bristol Motor Speedway, Wellmont Health System, Lilly Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association joined NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Ryan Reed Friday to tout the value of the Diabetes Alert sticker.

"The family was in bed and they had a fire alarm system that woke them up," Gate City Fire Chief Jeff Brickey said. "There was heavy smoke in the house when they came out of the bedrooms. They got out of the house, but the fire progressed very rapidly."
