KPD: Woman swindles TennCare to peddle pills

The search of a Kingsport home has led to more than 100 oxycodone pills, drug money and bartered food stamps, according to police, along with the arrest of a senior citizen who defrauded the state's health care system to obtain her goods.

Despite living 400 miles away from Scott County, an Indiana family has stepped up and donated a defibrillator to Gate City Little League. The move was motivated by a near-fatal accident on the local diamond and their own son's death in a similar incident.

Another juvenile is in custody for a third bomb threat at a Kingsport middle school while an elementary school was being evacuated for yet another bomb threat, marking four such incidents in the last three days.
