Grandmother allegedly draws blood from deputy while resisting arrest

A Hawkins County grandmother is facing charges including assault on an officer after she allegedly dug her nails into a deputy's arm so deep they drew blood while the deputy was attempting to arrest her.

Commonwealth's Attorney Marcus McClung said all three cases involved drivers who failed to pull over after an officer initiated a traffic stop. He said two of the pursuits — including one that reached speeds of 120 mph — took place in the Gate City area.
