RCS ready to file lawsuit over county schools transportation bill

The dispute concerns whether the Hawkins County School System has the right to charge RCS a fee for busing students above the county property tax allotment that city residents already contribute to the county school transportation fund.

WISE — The Wise County School Board on Tuesday approved a ban on use of all tobacco products at school division facilities, and the prohibition extends to football stadiums and other outdoor athletic facilities.

The Education Committee voted 4-1 with one abstention to forward the school budget on to the Budget Committee, which then voted 4-3 to forward the school budget to the full commission.
