Lawmakers call for hearing on new history course

The Associated Press reports that the lawmakers wrote a joint letter to the board questioning whether the course "emphasizes negative aspects while omitting or minimizing the positive" aspects of American history.

The Kingsport mother and her children who were seriously injured in a Wednesday traffic crash on East Stone Drive — leaving one boy in critical condition — are now hospitalized together in Knoxville.
