Highway workers aim to clear 2,000 roads in Sullivan on a priority basis

The Sullivan County Highway Department worked nonstop from early Monday through Tuesday afternoon, working to clear snow and ice from the roughly 2,000 roads maintained by the county.

Crews began pre-treating the roads in Kingsport Saturday morning with liquid salt brine and again Sunday morning. Once the snow started to fall on Monday, the plows came out and have been out ever since, spreading salt and salt brine.
