A motion naming Church Hill EMS the primary ambulance service for Hawkins County failed in committee Thursday. Instead, all three services were recommended for approval by the County Commission when it meets later this month.

A Hawkins County man who had been drinking whiskey all day Wednesday and "fussing" with his girlfriend was arrested after allegedly firing several gunshots off the back porch of his mobile home in the presence of several children.
