Slammer: Last second door slam into deputy sends Hawkins man to jail

A Hawkins County man who was described as highly intoxicated and very belligerent almost avoided going to jail during an encounter with police Wednesday until he allegedly slammed a house door into an exiting deputy's back.

The patriarch of one of the largest "gravel" dealers in the Model City has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. Johnny Michael Stallard claims to have possessed 7,500 grams of the drug, and directed several family members involved in trafficking.
