Traffic signal at Lamont and Sevier coming down

Tim Elsea, Kingsport's traffic engineer, said the intersection would be changed to a four-way stop. The reason for the switch comes as a result of a 30-day traffic study conducted at the intersection back in June.

A suspect in Sunday's armed robbery of a Kingsport convenience store is now in custody, with police saying he panicked upon spotting an officer on routine patrol, mistakenly believed his arrest was imminent and jumped a fence to try and hide.
