Hawkins County commissioners table EMS franchise proposals

There was substantial support on the commission for awarding the ambulance franchises Monday to Church Hill EMS and Hawkins County EMS. But the majority of commissioners agreed that a little more study is needed before action is taken.

A Cleveland officer was less than 10 feet away when he fatally shot a 12-year-old boy carrying a pellet gun near a playground, and video of the shooting is clear about what happened, police said Monday.

Drug charges placed against a Hawkins County woman last week at McPheeter's Bend Elementary School were dismissed because the outstanding arrest warrant which led to her initial arrest was invalid.
